In members news, Paul Cocotis, was inducted into the UC Berkeley Civil & Environmental Engineering Academy of Distinguished Alumni this week. He leads Shimmick Construction as CEO and Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Cocotis is a widely recognized leader in th heavy/civil construction industry. Under his leadership, Shimmick grew ten-fold in less than a decade and expanded into new markets. Shimmick regularly wins awards for completing difficult projects.

Congratulations also to James "Jim" Roberts of Granite, who had been elected last year but could not attend at that time, and was also inducted this week.
Mr. Roberts is a distinguished construction executive, spending his entire 35 year career with Granite. As President and CEO and as a Board Director, he is responsible for overall direction of the parent company and all its subsidiaries. Granite's revenues currently exceed $2.4 billion annually. Under his leadership, Granite is widely recognized as not only one of the most accomplished heavy civil contractors in the U.S. with many award-winning projects, but also one of the most ethical, with a widely recognized code of conducts centered around nine Core Values (Safety, Honesty, Integrity, Fairness, and others).
