What Must Happen In The Next Three Weeks To Avoid Another Shutdown

The 35-day partial government shutdown, the longest in U.S. history, has ended—though just for a little while—as President Trump signed a three-week stopgap funding bill after the Senate and House approved the measure. The new legislation was enacted on Jan. 25, less than eight hours after Trump announced a deal with congressional leaders to halt the shutdown, which had put a crimp in some, though not all, federal infrastructure programs.

Santa Clara, California, transit authority starts $4.7B Phase II of BART extension

The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) started construction Tuesday on the $4.7billion Phase II of a 16-mile, six-station extension of Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) service from North San Jose, California, through downtown and into the city of Santa Clara, NBC Bay Area reported.

Miami-Dade passes plan to let developers build more near Metrorail, transit routes
County commissioners on Wednesday revised Miami-Dade’s development rules to allow for more density in the six corridors that make up the Strategic Miami Area Rapid Transit Plan — best known as the SMART Plan. Launched in 2016, it is funding consultant studies to recommend new transit plans for some of the county’s busiest commuting routes.
