Texas DOT stops construction of $800M FIGG-designed Harbor Bridge

The Texas DOT (TxDOT) has halted design work on the $803 million replacement of the Harbor Bridge in Corpus Christi, Texas, amid reports that FIGG Bridge Engineers Inc. has been removed from the project, according to KRIS-TV.

Project of the Year: Innovative Design Bridges Lake Shore Drive and Connects Chicago’s South Side to the Lakefront

In 2003, the office of then-Mayor Richard M. Daley  in Chicago held an international bridge design competition called “Bridging the Drive,” the goal of which was to find a way to link South Side neighborhoods to the lakefront in a commitment to improve pedestrian access along South Lake Shore Drive.
